I'd rather not go back to the old house ...

<BGSOUND src="../sounds/piledriver.wav" loop=true>

A couple of hundred metres down the road is the last old building in Hong Kong. This is barely an exaggeration, as buildings are routinely torn down after 30 years or so, when their owners realise they can make more money by building something taller, and squashing more people into the same building footprint.
    The building you see is how buildings used to look in Hong Kong, and with the addition of aircon, plumbing etc, could possibly be nice places to live. Anyway, they have mostly been torn down, and looking at this one, it is about to meet the same fate. However, I suspect that it is too structurally involved with the buildings to either side. Even if they were able to level it without taking the neighbours down, they'd never have enough space to build a new one there. Check out the ridges on the side of the building which marked the floors and ceilings of its previous neighbours.
    Bored of the noise yet? Better not move to Hong Kong then ...
